David Kitney
Managing Director

David has been a recruitment business owner for the past 10 years and founded Emmerson Kitney in 2009. His energy and passion for recruitment with commitment to providing best in class service inspires the rest of the team. He has an excellent ability at building long term business relationships with both clients and candidates.

When he’s not working

David watches the Tigers at weekends and still plays himself for a local vets football team. When not with the family he’s out socialising and looks forward to his annual skiing trip with the lads!

Tim Watson
Commercial Director

Tim joined the team in 2018 after a successful seven-year stint working for a local commercial radio station. During this time, Tim and his team helped the station develop into the best-performing in its national network of ten and enabled Tim to broaden his knowledge of sales into marketing and related disciplines.

Full of ideas, energy and creativity, Tim likes nothing better than a challenging client brief and the opportunity to make a real difference to the fortunes of businesses large and small.

When he's not managing a great team

Tim loves blowing away the cobwebs with a few hours on his road bike and is a big fan of fast cars. He also enjoys getting away from it all – anything from camping to skiing!

Joe Makin
Engineering Talent Manager

Originally working in Education a planned switch to the Recruitment sector has seen him become specialist in Contract Engineering within Manufacturing, Modular and Chemical. A genuine interest in Engineering, together with a desire to provide the very best levels of customer service to candidates and clients, makes him an excellent person to engage with for all specialist Engineering recruitment.

When he's not sourcing talent

Outside of the office you can find Joe on the pitch as Captain of the Hull Ionians rugby team. When he’s not scoring a try, Joe enjoys travelling to new cities around the world.

Leon Sewell
Engineering Talent Manager

Leon joined the team in June 2015 and runs our Engineering Recruitment desk in Manufacturing and Modular. With 10 years recruitment experience Leon is an expert when it comes to sourcing the perfect candidates for your clients. He is adept at relationship building with colleagues and clients through his relaxed nature, ensuring mutual respect is built upon confidence in his abilities and delivering on promises. Leon has proven his ability in successfully gaining commitment from clients and candidates within the industry.

When he’s not sourcing talent

Leon is an avid football fan and can often be found on to the pitch coaching his semi-professional football team!

Sam Horton
Sales and Marketing Talent Manager

Having previously worked as an IT Recruitment Consultant, Sam is an expert in sourcing hard to find candidates in a niche market. Friendly, easy-going, enthusiastic and eager to learn, Sam is quick to build relationships with candidates and clients across the wide and varied spectrum of sales and marketing roles he handles.

When he's not sourcing talent

A big cricket fan, Sam can be found scoring runs on the field for his local team!

Ellis Michaels
Recruitment Consultant

Ellis joined in 2019 from the Human Capital Management sector of IT. His personability, enthusiasm, and eagerness to develop has made the switch to the world of recruitment has seen an effortless transition. His previous role as an account manager has developed his ability to build relationships for success across the sector.

When he's not sourcing talent

When he’s not catching a new play at Hull Truck, or Hull New Theatre, Ellis can be seen supporting Huddersfield Town AFC or planning his next trip abroad.

Becki Moore
Accountancy and Finance Talent Manager

Becki joined Emmerson Kitney in 2013. She instantly made her mark on the team and showed her passion for helping people achieve, working with clients by supporting their business growth and encouraging candidates to find their dream opportunity. Her wealth of experience in a previous role as a Business Manager, has developed her commerciality and ability to achieve and excel targets.

When she’s not sourcing talent

A party planner extraordinaire, Becki enjoys spending her free time with friends. She is an avid festival fan and can often be seen crowd surfing at Glastonbury!

Georgia Would
Recruitment Consultant

Joining the SGFR team in 2019, after two years of legal recruitment in Leeds, Georgia now specialises in recruitment of finance professionals.  A friendly and energetic person, Gee (as she is known by her colleagues) has a natural ability of getting the best out of people and help them succeed.

Passionate about the finding the right fit for everyone, she ensures that the process moves quickly and smoothly for both candidate and clients.

 

 

When she’s not sourcing talent

You will find Georgia socialising with friends and family, and either looking at or going on holiday. This girl loves sunshine and can advise most people on the places to go!

Matt Scarr
Recruitment Consultant

Matt joined in 2019, after working in the fast-paced world of sales.  He joins the SGFR team with a great network of local professionals. A warm, engaging style he has a natural ability to match great candidates to their perfect roles. Specialising in Practise Accountancy.

 

 

When he's not sourcing talent

Outside of work you will find Matt doing one of many things;

Being a trustee of local charity The Stephen Hughes Foundation, supporting young people in their socialisation into the community through sport and raising money for vital research into Myocarditis (Heart Disease).

On one of his many guest presenter slots on BBC Radio Humberside’s Sportstalk programme.

Being a passionate supporter of Hull FC to the extent of a bad result ruining his week ahead!

Finally, and most importantly, spending time with his young family making lasting memories.

Karen Wood
Management Accountant

Karen is responsible for providing financial advice and support to the company directors and managers to enable them to make sound business decisions and ensure the smooth running of the business. By providing and interpreting financial information based within the company and its clients, Karen provides a clear strategy to move the business forward.

When she’s not using a calculator

Karen is the chatterbox of the team and we can always depend on her for tasty treats! She enjoys spending time with her family and can be always relied on in a crisis.

Fran Williams
Accounts Administrator

Fran is currently completing her Business & Administration Apprenticeship, she assists our Management Accountant with duties such as payroll as well as supporting the rest of the team with any level of administrative tasks, she really is the backbone to the teams success.

When she's not crunching numbers

Fran is the socialite of the team, she loves nothing more than spending her down time out at social events with friends and family and always has a busy calendar. When she’s not being a social butterfly, Fran is usually spending her hard-earned money on treating herself.
