Engineering Manager

Description

We are working with a local food manufacturer to recruit an Engineering Manager. The client has seen an increase in demand for their products due to the pandemic. The business is part of a larger group and is a fully well-established autonomous function. With potential site expansion plans forecast for the coming 12 months this is an exciting time to join the business. The Engineering Manager will report to the Factory Manager and be responsible for:

• Lead, motivate and develop direct reports
• Keep abreast of technological advancements within the industry within areas such as: Equipment, Skills, Training, etc.
• Providing an effective and service focused, Site Engineering maintenance function, through the analysis and reporting of performance information against expected levels
• Preparation and management of the engineering budgets against agreed KPI’s.
• To secure supplies of materials and services on terms and conditions optimised to benefit the Company, whilst maintaining an adequate number of approved suppliers to allow competitive negotiation.
• Review and improve the planned maintenance system to deliver high-level line performance and achievement of World Class Site OEE.
• Manage the engineering budgets and support required for capital projects implemented on site and to coordinate and direct project management activities

To be successful in the role of Engineering Manager you will have:

• an HNC/HND in a relevant subject area
• Experience of leading, developing and managing a team of skilled engineers
• a hands-on background with the willingness to contribute to maintenance activities when necessary
• Working knowledge of continuous improvement
• Experience within a manufacturing environment
• Experience of leading projects is desirable
• Have outstanding interpersonal skills
