Neptune Sonar, a leading innovator in underwater acoustic solutions, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in East Yorkshire. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our engineering projects, contributing to the design and development of cutting-edge products in the field of underwater acoustics.
Opportunity
Project Management:
- Demonstrate strong project management skills to oversee and lead engineering projects effectively
- Take ownership of project management responsibilities, ensuring timely and quality delivery
Qualifications:
- Hold a Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering field
Technical Knowledge:
- Possess a robust and up-to-date technical knowledge of relevant engineering principles and products
- Experience in 3D CAD, preferably Solidworks & PDM, to create and modify detailed designs
Communication Skills:
- Exhibit excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and other departments
- Clearly convey technical concepts and ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Design and Solution Delivery:
- Deliver technical designs and innovative solutions in accordance with project requirements
- Produce accurate 2D CAD manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, and work instructions
Documentation and Specifications:
- Prepare detailed specifications and Bills of Materials (BOM) to guide manufacturing processes
- Ensure documentation accuracy and compliance with industry standards
Collaboration:
- Work closely with various departments and external suppliers to ensure seamless coordination and integration of product requirements
- Foster effective communication and collaboration between teams
Person
Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering field
- Proficient in 3D CAD, preferably Solidworks & PDM
- Proven experience in delivering technical designs and solutions
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to produce accurate 2D CAD manufacturing drawings and assembly instructions
- Experience in preparing specifications and Bills of Materials
- Capacity to work collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers
