The UK & ROI Division has several market leading brands including the household name Ideal Heating who manufacture in excess of 400,000 boilers per year. Recent activity has seen a drive to support its increasing focus on new and sustainable heating technologies.

Opportunity

Due to continued growth and demand for product development we are looking to speak to Certification Engineer who are experienced in the delivery of product certification of both NPI & Engineering Change projects to join Groupe Atlantic UK, ROI & North America. This role will work as part of a multi-discipline R&D team to complete R&D activities on both new and existing project ranges.

The Certification Engineer will also be responsible for:

  • Successfully deliver of full product certification, supporting both the NPI and EC teams.
  • Support UKCA & CE applications for both manufactured products and factored products, covering internal GAUK requests alongside wider GA activities (European).
  • Manage and develop the internal product certification database, inclusive of instrumentation records.
  • Generate, approve, and manage Declarations of Conformity across all product streams.
  • Liaise with Quality Systems Engineer for management of BSOL subscriptions and standards management.
  • Adhere to existing processes or develop new processes to aid the product approvals and certification requirements in line with approval bodies
  • Manage and build relationships with UK, EU & US approval bodies such as BSI, KIWA, Intertek
  • Support wider R&D team with technical database submissions i.e. PCDB.
  • Complete activities in full, to time and within budget, meeting the requirements of the programme.
  • Be responsible for ongoing continuous professional development of own competencies and highlight skills and support for development of engineering competencies, to meet programme requirements and support effective and efficient resource deployment.
  • Communicate information and knowledge to support effective decision making within project teams and the wider NPI structure for product certification in various markets.
  • Develop and maintain constructive relationships with colleagues.

Applicants should have an HNC/Degree in an Engineering related discipline or suitable previous experience.

Knowledge and understanding of the market and technology would be beneficial to the role. They should have a strong background in product development and / or continuous improvement in a technical/engineering discipline. Sound IT skills are a pre-requisite.

Working in either fields, refrigeration systems/HVAC or combustion is desirable, as is the knowledge and understanding of regulations and standards related to these industries, such as: EN60335-1, EN60335-2-40 General Electrical Safety, EN14511, EN14825 for Heat Pumps and EN 13203, EN 15502, EN 437 for Combustion products.
