Commercial Manager

LOCATION: Hull & Yorkshire

SALARY: Excellent + Company Car

GW Power is an established M&E, renewable technologies, maintenance and decarbonisation provider delivering projects across commercial and public-sector estates. Its portfolio spans electrical and mechanical installations, service and maintenance, testing and compliance, and low-carbon technologies.

As Commercial Manager, reporting to the Operations Director you’ll play a central role in protecting the commercial performance of projects across the business. Working closely with contract managers, estimators, accounts, site teams and clients, you’ll provide the financial insight, contractual guidance and commercial challenge needed to keep projects on track.

From cash flow forecasting and contract reviews to valuations, variations and final accounts, you’ll bring greater commercial visibility to key projects and ensure everyone understands where each job stands. This is an influential role for a commercially astute professional who enjoys collaboration, problem-solving and turning financial information into clear action.

• Lead and build the commercial department – managing performance and risk within an award winning, fast growing business.
• Work across diverse projects ranging from £100,000 upwards.
• Influence projects from contract review through to final account.
• Work closely with operational, finance, estimating and site teams.
• Make a measurable impact on business performance working closely with the Directors.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Provide commercial guidance across a varied portfolio of projects.
• Review and manage contract performance, cash flow, costs, profitability and commercial risks.
• Manage valuations, applications, variations, and final accounts.
• Support subcontractor appointments, procurement and contract negotiations.
• Issue contractual notices and help resolve claims, delays and disputes.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• Experience in commercial management, quantity surveying or similar.
• Strong in cost control, cash flow forecasting and project profitability.
• Experience with NEC, JCT or similar construction contracts.
• Experience within construction, M&E, renewables, principal or a sub contractor.
• A proactive, analytical and collaborative approach.
