Emmerson Kitney and Bondholders inspiring women and girls to get in to manufacturing and engineering
During the week that celebrated International Women’s Day, leading specialist recruitment consultancy Emmerson Kitney joined forces with Bondholders to invite women and girls from across the Humber region to explore the many and varied career opportunities available to them within manufacturing and engineering.
The annual Greenport Hull event, which was held as part of WiME’s #WomenLikeME campaign, on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th March saw around 25 local companies exhibit and more than 500 females attend, many of whom Emmerson Kitney supported with careers advice over the two days.
Emmerson Kitney director Kate van der Sluis said, “Gender diversity is a hot topic right now for all businesses, so it was great for girls and women to meet women already working within the sector, and to find out about current vacancies and apprenticeships. For the girls, it meant that they could find out about what qualifications they would need to be able to pursue a future in manufacturing or engineering”.
Emmerson Kitney works with various local companies to support careers fairs, open days and events such as the WiME one, which encourage people to look at different opportunities that are available to them.
